Indaba Wines support the Indaba Foundation, a non-profit which provides early childhood teacher training.
Indaba Foundation
Every bottle of Indaba Wine sold directly supports the transformation of Early Childhood Education in South Africa by funding the Community Rooted Education (CoRE) training program, an initiative of the Indaba Institute. This powerful, locally-grounded program equips Early Childhood women teachers in South Africa's most poverty-stricken areas with world-class skills, nurturing the development of young children during their most critical years. Through each purchase, you’re not just enjoying exceptional wine—you’re investing in a future where every child has access to inspired, capable educators and a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Transforming Lives: Results in Numbers
The positive impact of the Indaba Foundation’s rigorously trained teachers is already evident in communities plagued by violence and poverty. By investing in teacher training, we’re working towards improving the life-trajectory of children during their most critical years of development.
Indaba’s Mission
Giving back to the people and place our wines come from is a key part of our philosophy. For over 20 years Indaba has invested in social progress in the Cape Winelands.
Previously through the Indaba Scholarship, Indaba provided bursaries for students to pursue wine-industry related graduate and post-graduate studies since 1998. Mzokhona Mvemve, the first Indaba Scholar, became one of South Africa’s first certified black African winemakers after graduating from Stellenbosch University in 2003. Indaba has also supported Heartlands Baby Sanctuary, The Helderberg Animal Wellfare Group, Siyabona Africa, Community Keepers and The Carmen Stevens Foundation in South Africa.
